About your massage therapist
Remedial Massage Therapists have extensive training that includes not only massage techniques but also thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology. A massage therapist can also provide exercise and/or stretches.
When choosing a massage therapist, select a member of a recognised association such as the AAMT, AMT or ANTA. They have formal, accredited qualifications and are committed to professional development. They are also eligible to health funds that provide rebates for massage.
Does my health fund cover massage?
There are a number of health funds in Australia that rebate massage therapy. Ask your massage therapist or contact your health fund direct.
