The Southern Adelaide Health Service Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (SAHS-CAMHS) is part of Southern Mental Health and provides mental health services to children and young people up to 18 years and their families who are experiencing emotional, behavioural or psychiatric problems.
What SAHS-CAMHS offer:
- Services to the southern metropolitan and southern country areas of South Australia through a network of community based teams
- A confidential therapeutic service for children and young people up to 18 years of age and their families
- services by child and family specialists including clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, nurses and occupational therapists who are experienced in helping with psychiatric, emotional, behavioural and social difficulties
- Individual or family counselling appointments, groups for children and parents and information workshops for parents/caregivers
- Information, training and consultation to GPs, schools and other agencies on child and adolescent mental health issues
There are no charges or fees for counselling services and interpreter services are available if required.
Services are generally provided between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, however alternative appointment. Times can be negotiated.
