Assisitive Technology Australia (formerly, Independent Living Centre NSW) is a leading information, education, and advisory centre for Assistive Technology and the Built Environment. We are located in Westpoint Blacktown, NSW Australia and are a not-for-profit, community based organisation and Public Benevolent institution registered as a charity in New South Wales.
Our Purpose is to inform people's choices of assistive technology by providing impartial advice and information.
Our Vision is to change lives through Assistive Technology.
Through government-funded services like Infoline, our team of qualified allied health professionals answer any questions callers may have on Assistive Technology for independence in everyday living, communication, mobility, home modifications, building design and community services.
AT Australia has a full sized one bedroom apartment, with home modifications in situ, into the new display at Blacktown. Built to the Livable Housing Design Guidelines, showcasing assistive technology devices, involving high tech as well as simplle and good design.
We run group tours for members of community organisations and student groups to provide a general overview of the types of Assistive Technology available to assist with daily living activities, communication and mobility.
We show visitors the latest products and innovative design ideas to help them to learn how Assistive Technology products and good design can make everyday living easier.
