Located in Gembrook, (a short drive from Cockatoo, Emerald and Pakenham), the school offers a fun, relaxed learning environment where Maye Fey-Gill (sole owner and operator) strongly believes that â??making learning funâ?? is by far the best teaching method to maximise studentsâ?? potential.
As a result, music games are incorporated into lessons and give students a strong theoretical, aural and practical musical foundation; whereby students practice because they want to, not because they have to.
Students can choose to learn for leisure or exams including styles from classical through to modern contemporary music as well as composition, improvisation, music arrangement and aural training and gain experience with computer music notation programs such as â??Sebaliusâ??.
Manor Vale House was established by Maye Fey-Gill in January 2008 and has steadily established itself as a high quality, community minded piano school, priding itself on the â??quality not quantityâ?? doctrine.
Starting the piano at the age of 3, Maye studied at the Yamaha School of Music and was quick to develop â??perfect pitch,â?? graduating from Yamaha at just 13 years of age. Continuing with her piano studies through expert private tuition from Margaret Oâ??Grady and Roger Heagney, Maye continued to advance both practically and theoretically and by 2007, Mayeâ??s university studies would see her complete her AMUSA level qualification in piano studies.
Maye has years of private teaching experience with students of all ages, backgrounds and learning abilities. She encourages children and adults of any age to give music a go and enjoy the myriad of benefits that learning piano has to offer.
Maye Fey-Gill is a member of the Victorian Music Teachers Association and has an approved Working With Children Accreditation.
