Food Relief / Food bank Warragul is an incorporated body, managed and staffed entirely by unpaid local volunteers from regional churches. We greatly appreciate regular donations of food items, from local suppliers, supermarkets, producers, and growers, plus generous financial support and food drives from regional community groups and organizations.
We have just celebrated out first year at our new premises at factory 17 / 11 Pearse St. Warragul, which also incorporates a Charity shop well stocked with clothes and household items at bargain basement prices. Income from the Charity shop, helps stock our food bank shelves, and directly supports our clients in need of food assistance. We invite new volunteers to help with welcoming and chatting with clients, selection of food relief items, pickup of food donations, fund raising, plus behind the scene duties too. We are the same food relief / food bank group that used to be in the old Tarwin St Church building.
Our primary aim is to assist people in need, with substantial food relief & other assistance, regardless of their background or circumstances. Application is a simple process, noting some personal details and a current Health Care Card. We appreciate if clients can make a donation up to $7.00 per visit, to help assist us in buying in basic food items mainly for the benefit of all our participants.
