Dr Jabbour is an Ophthalmic Surgeon & Medical Retinal Specialist who has expertise in all areas of general ophthalmology including Glaucoma, Cataract Surgery, and Retinal/Glaucoma Laser procedures. He has completed a Medical Retina Fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, United Kingdom (the teaching Hospital of Oxford University). He specialises in conditions such as Age-Related Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Vein Occlusion, and Cataract. He is one of a small number of ophthalmologists in Australasia with experience in a specialised form of non-scarring macular laser therapy known as 'micropulse'. Micropulse laser therapy is a repeatable and safer form of macular laser treatment for macular oedema related to Diabetes or Retinal Vein Occlusion. Dr Jabbour also has a special interest in Laser Cataract Surgery and has worked with Professor Zoltan Nagy, the first surgeon in the world to perform this procedure.
Dr. Jabbour underwent his core specialty training in Ophthalmology through Sydney Eye Hospital and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. He also has a Masters of Public Health from the University of Sydney and is a medical graduate from the University of New South Wales. Dr. Jabbour has been a treating investigator in several Multicentre International Randomized Clinical Trials and has multiple peer reviewed publications. He has also tutored registrars, general practitioners, optometrists, and medical students through the Universities of Oxford (UK), Sydney, and NSW. Dr. Jabbour regularly attends international meetings and is at the forefront of the management of Medical Retina disorders & cataract surgery.
