Recently located a Drywood Termite species [Cryptotermes brevis] at a property in Newport, which have only ever been found in N.S.W. on a handful of occasions. These termites, unlike their subterranean cousins, do not require ground contact & therefore cannot be treated by conventional methods. Once located & positively I.D'd, the dwelling had to be assessed by The Department Of Primary Industries.They then deemed it necessary to undergo a full fumigation treatment, where the house has to be tented & fumigated & the owners need to be relocated for a few days. All nearby neighbours were also notified & their houses inspected.
I was featured in a recent story [21/2/13] run by Channel 9's 'A Current Affair' programme, about the prevelance of termites in the Sydney region.
I also treat general pests such as cockroaches, ants, spiders, ticks, silverfish & rodents.
