The strategy uses complementary techniques (physical, cultural, biological, educational and chemical) with a priority on non-chemical control measures.
Effective IPM requires on-going monitoring and assessment of the effectiveness of control strategies.

Treatments
Termites of economic significance are treated via direct nest treatment or establishment of trapping and baiting programs. The control agent chosen will be the one most appropriate for the type of termite and size of infestation. The lowest hazard strategy will be chosen. Where hazard is determined as
