Hungry Hound was founded in 1996 by Melbourne Butcher, Dave Swayn, in the back room of his familyâ??s butcher shop in Colac. What started out as an experiment became a passion and soon Hungry Hound was the first company to sell pig ear treats in Australia. From these humble beginnings we soon grew to a 40+ person strong production facility, supplying private label pet treats to major supermarkets and pet food stores throughout Australia, as well as producing our own Hungry Hound branded pet treat range.
Today Hungry Hound is recognised for reliable quality, all natural, 100% Australian made pet treats. The business continues to grow and is currently expanding into the export market.
