I am fully registered psychologist having earned a Bachelor of Psychology with honours degree from the University of New England, Armidale, Australia. While still undertaking my degree I was awarded with an Alumni Prize for academic and community involvement.
Following my four year degree I undertook two years of professional training and supervision through the Australian College of Applied Psychology in Brisbane earning a Certificate in Psychological Practice.
To practise as a psychologist it is a requirement that I be registered as a health practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). I am also legally required to register with the Psychology Board of Australia, in the same way medical practitioners must be registered.
I am a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). The stringent requirements of this professional body ensure its members provide a very high quality ethical service. I am committed to the APS professional conduct, responsibilities and confidentiality that are set and monitored by the Society in the APS Code of Ethics.
I have also undertaken extensive studies and training in Clinical Hypnotherapy, achieving a Diploma of Clinical Hypnosis through the College of Medical Hypnosis, Sydney.
In my professional capacity I have been employed by various government and private organisations in many diverse and challenging roles where I gained a wealth of experience and expertise. For the past fourteen years I have enjoyed providing psychological services exclusively in private practice. I have always had a keen interest in people and I have a strong desire to help others to reach their potential by eliminating existing barriers including emotional and psychological distress. I constantly update my skills and knowledge so that I can provide the most appropriate therapeutic approach to best suit an individuals needs.
