Love tapas? Love seafood? You’ll love Sean’s Kitchen. Clever one-hat chef Sean Connolley’s chi chi Spanish bistro has a heady and indulgent atmosphere, just like the food. The hand-cut chips are cooked outrageously in duck fat, served in a paper cone and like the churros – donuts dipped in chocolate – you just gotta have them! Then there’s the huge cured Spanish hams hanging in glass cases and gutsy mains like the succulent chicken brick-roasted in its own juice. Straight from the fish markets is a dazzling array of seafood on dramatic display: huge-clawed crabs, crayfish and lobster (the sashimi is to die for, plated on delicate white ceramic atop a cute rosemary filled vase). It’s these small finishing touches that give this restaurant a polished international flavour. Fiesta! Go for great tapas and the fabulous wine list – oh and the crunchy, light onion rings.
