The Claremont is, at least in some ways, your typical corner pub built at the turn of the last century, while in many other ways, it is completely unique and refreshing.
For a start, The Claremont Hotel was stylishly refurbishment a few years ago, and as a result, the interior makes the place feel like a trendy inner-city bar, but at the same time, the original pub features and atmosphere never quite leaves you.
The pub hosts an array of features that can easily be distinguishable at any other drinking outlet in and around Perth, such as a large bar and lounge area, a terrace room and a bottle shop that is attached to the rear of the pub.
In that regard, it is a usual corner pub, but I guess the particularly friendly staff, intimate bar area, large mix of people who range from all demographics, and the fantastic internal structure and extensive beer and wine menu makes up for this and in doing so, creates a rather odd and intriguing mix between old and new / pub and bar.
