Left Of Elephant Sound is run by Jeremy Conlon, a freelance sound recordist – sound engineer, musician, and composer, who has had over 25 years experience in many facets of the music industry. He was a member of Adelaide band The Violets (12/6 string acoustic ), ABC TripleJ favourites in the 90’s, and has continued his electronic persona Cooperblack for the last 20 years, also with songs played on TripleJ and many community radio stations in Australia. Jeremy has a degree in Classical Composition, and very much enjoys arranging and composing for contemporary songs.
Recent films completed as Sound Recordist have been ‘Yaripirri’s Journey’ (Songlines Project for PAW Media/Screen Australia/SBS/NITV) and ‘Bulunu Milkarri’ (Songlines Project for ARDS/Screen Australia/SBS/NITV), as well as many productions for PAW Media (Yuendumu) and AFTRS (Sydney).
Jeremy has worked on the ARIA award winning albums “Gurrumul” (credit – additional recordings) and “Rrakala” (credit – assistant engineer, New York City Avatar Studio) by Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu (Skinnyfish Music), “Muyngarnbi – Walking With Spirits” (credit – sound engineer) – featuring Tom E Lewis and Ross Hannaford (Daddy Cool), Nabarlek – ‘Manmoyi Radio” (sound/mix engineer – Skinnyfish Music), ‘Tjamuku Ngurra’ – Tjintu Desert Band (credit – producer CAAMA), KND album ‘MUZIK IZ 4EVA” (credit – producer CAAMA Music) and has had the great privilege to recorded many traditional and contemporary songs from indigenous and non indigenous musicians throughout Australia.
