Sitting in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains and on the banks of the Snowy River. The Snowy River Cabins were built in 1980 by a Finnish family using traditional Finnish building methods from solid cedar logs. They are self-contained with their own kitchens and bathrooms, and you cannot see another cabin from your cabin. The river is crystal clear, as is the night sky. It's quiet, so so quiet. The views, wildlife and river are all a photographers dream. We know that Snowy River Cabins isn't for everyone. It is a remote location and the 20km of gravel access roads can get rough and the causeways can get quite deep. It is a 4WD access property with no mobile service, no internet and no TVs. The property is 45 minutes from both Cooma and Jindabyne, make sure you bring everything you need with you, and have plenty of fuel in your 4WD as there are no shops nearby. Our Cabins are traditional cabins, so they are quite small - this helps with keeping them warm (as does the solid timber walls and double glazing) but it does mean there's not a lot of room in them! So if that hasn't scared you off, if you like an adventure down a bush track to a hidden gem then hit book now and we look forward to welcoming you.
