The Priory Country Lodge provides luxurious accommodation in the historic town of Bothwell, Tasmania.Built in 1848, the lodge has recently been stunningly refurbished. The four bedroom Tudor Gothic house now includes ensuite marble bathrooms, formal lounge, drawing room, library, hunt room, movie room, dining room and a fabulous country kitchen to enjoy produce from the local area. Like its sister property, The Islington Hotel, it has been designed and decorated using exquisite antiques, fabrics and art work from Tasmania and abroad. The landscape gardens are simple and refined and to the rear of the property are the barbecue pavilion and an inviting sauna.The property is situated on the hillside overlooking the historic township of Bothwell. The area lies at the foothills of the great lakes of Tasmania, with fishing and hunting just two of the many activities you can enjoy. The township is also home to Australia’s oldest golf course, ‘Ratho,’ and a must for any golfer or lover of golfing history. You can also tour the Nant Distillery and sample a fine single malt whisky in the atrium lounge and whisky bar.The lodge is one hours’ drive (78 kilometres/49 miles) north of Tasmania’s harbour capital, Hobart.
