This is a venue offering the best of the arc of East Asia - a bit of Chinese, Malaysian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai and more. The restaurant has a smart-casual elegance with a dozen well-spaced wooden tables, a bar dominating the back wall, paper lanterns and unusual straw wallpaper. A page of our favourites; there are banquets, daily specials and a small, but reasonable wine list. Spring rolls are a clue to a good Asian place and they are wonderful here, as are the prawn and crab cakes. Meals are well-presented and visually make the food appetising even before it is tasted. Sizzling steak with ginger, basil, chilli and garlic is peppery while whole barramundi with ginger and shallots is equally impressive, arriving on a fish-shaped dish. Fried and steamed rice tastes as good as it looks.
