Between the valley and the hill hides a sleepy town, Mt Evelyn. The only town that has the Warburton Trail running right through the middle. Recently this town has awakened as the place to be.
The main street, Wray Crescent, with its old charming buildings could almost be described as bustling. There right in the middle on the corner of Station St, stands Billy Goat Hill Brasserie. A new style of eating with an old style of comfort. From the outside you could be forgiven in thinking Billy Goat Hill is another cafe, but as you look closer you will notice the detail of the bush scene decal on the windows with the goats.
All might not be as it seems. Billy Goat Hill was designed with food, life and enjoyment of the finer things in mind.
Named after a historic region of Mt Evelyn with an interesting past, Billy Goat Hill gives you the old world feel with elegant modern style.
The seasonal changing menu is inspired by the local growers and farmers. The menu is designed from farm to plate, allowing the chefs to guarantee quality, satisfaction and originality that could only be described as inspiring.
Our support for local quality doesn't stop at the paddock. Billy Goat Hill offers locally brewed beer from Hargreaves Hill brewery plus wines from Whispering Hill, Bulong Estate, Sir Paz and Tokar. Not to mention our professionally barristered coffee using Yarra fair trade organic coffee.
To accompany our seasonal menu we also sell gourmet ingredients, table cheese, ripe additions jams and even fresh bay leaves.
Being a Brassereie gives the customer freedom to enjoy a delicious breakfast including our house made potato roesti, a full three course lunch or dinner, a morning chai latte or an after work beer or wine.
Once you have tried our in house made cakes or morning baked muffins you will understand what people say about old style home cooking.
