Set in an idyllic location with breathtaking views, TarraWarra Estate is famous for its internationally recognised pinot noir and chardonnay and is without doubt one of the Yarra Valley's premier attractions. The TarraWarra Pinot Noir has twice been awarded the trophy for the 'Best Pinot Noir Burgundy in the World' in the prestigious London International Wine Challenge. The Estate was established by Marc Besen AO in 1982 and was originally grazing land however, with more than 45,000 trees being planted to date, the property has undergone a stunning transformation. Opening in December 2003, the TarraWarra Cafe and Wine Bar will offer light meals designed to accompany the Estate's wines. Private or tutored tastings by arrangement must be pre-booked. Private functions are catered for. Adjoining the cafe will be the TarraWarra Museum of Art, which will house one of the most significant collections of modern Australian art. The building was designed by leading architect Allan Powell to maximise the magnificent views while blending harmoniously with the surrounding landscape.
