We believe, above all, that dancing classes should be fun! Fun is at the heart of what it means to be a child, to be free, happy and full of energy. When children are having fun in their dance class they are motivated, engage with the dance lesson and remember more of the experience. When dance classes for kids are taught through fun, it never feels like a lesson, everything becomes play. When children play they are not afraid of taking risks, exploring, making mistakes and trying again.
Young children will learn to dance with the aid of fairy dust, imaginary balloons and the occasional monster to be chased away. They will explore musical concepts and will experiment with characterisation, developing different characters to match the music. Over time, children will naturally integrate these skills into their dancing and performance.
Our Classes
Jingles (2.5 to 5yrs)
Our Jingles program is designed and taught by Michelle Rogers Dip. Community Services (Childrens Services), B.Ed (Early Childhood). The Jingles class gives young children a little taste of ballet, jazz and tap in a single class. As well as learning the basics of these styles, children will develop skills such as musicality and characterisation through dramatic play, musical games and using props (e.g. fairy wings, animal costumes, ribbons, magic wands).
Jingles Acrobatics (4 to 6yrs)
Jingles Acrobatics is a 30 minute class that helps young children to develop upper body strength, balance and flexibility in a safe, supportive and fun environment. Children will learn forward and backward rolls, bridges, gentle stretches as well as the foundations for handstands and cartwheels, all taught through games and creative play.
Grade 1 to Gold Star (6yrs to teens)
