Dr Tsai has a passion for, and thus has specialised in the spine, however he enjoys all areas of orthopaedic surgery including trauma and arthroplasty.
A graduate of the University of Sydney Dr Nicholas Tsai did his internship and residency in Westmead Hospital. He worked as orthopaedic registrar in Blacktown Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Mona vale Hospital and Concord Hospital in Sydney, before being admitted into the NSW Orthopaedic training scheme.
He has also worked in Liverpool Hospital, St George Hospital, St Vincentâ??s Hospital, Wagga Wagga Hospital and spent 1 year in Canberra and Calvary hospitals, plus time working in the spinal unit in Prince of Wales Hospital and Sydney Childrenâ??s Hospital Randwick.
After obtaining a fellowship with the Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009, he worked as a locum in Burnie Hospital Tasmania and The Canberra Hospital before embarking on a long term AOSpine fellowship program in Changzheng Hospital Shanghai under the guidance of Professor Wen Yuan. This hospital provided extensive experience of management in degenerative cervical and lumbar conditions as well as spinal trauma.
He is a member of RACS (Orth), Australian orthopaedic association and Taiwan Orthopaedic Association, and AOSpine
