Adele is a consultant Colorectal Surgeon having completed her general surgical training at the Alfred Hospital. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) in 2007. She carried out her post-fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery through the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ).
Her post fellowship training was undertaken at the Austin Hospital in 2008 and in 2009/10 she was awarded The Murray and Unity Pheils Travel Fellowship from the RACS to completed a year post-fellowship clinical training at The Cleveland Clinic, USA, under the mentorship of world-renowned surgeon Dr Victor Fazio.
During her Colorectal Fellowship Adele undertook research in several areas including Robotic surgery for Rectal prolapse, Colorectal cancer treatment, Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) and has written a book chapter on Pelvic Floor Disorders.
She has recently appointed as a consultant Colorectal Surgeon at the Austin Hospital.
Her Surgical and Research Interest include:
o Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy and Cancer Screening and Cancer Surgery.
o Laparoscopic and Robotic Colorectal Surgery.
o Pelvic Floor Dysfunction including rectal prolapse, incontinence, constipation, sphincter repair surgery and sacral nerve stimulation.
o Diverticulitis Management and Surgery.
Adele is commencing private practice at Warringal Private Hospital and Epworth Hospital, Richmond.
