Throughout its history NUsport has grown and succeeded because it understands and adds value to the role that sport and recreation plays within the University of Newcastle and the wider community
It has worked with students and staff of the University of Newcastle, sporting authorities and groups and with the wider community to promote sport as an essential part of life.
NUsport was established in 2001 and is the successful amalgamation of The University of Newcastle Sports Union and The Forum Sports & Aquatic Centre. This not-for-profit organisation is managed by qualified professionals, under the direction and governance of a volunteer Board.
The award winning NUsport is a leader in the health and fitness industry and manages a suite of contemporary facilities in convenient locations including:

NUsport Rowing Pavilion (located at Berry Park near Maitland)
These facilities as well as a diverse offering of programs and activities are designed to meet the needs of University students, staff and our local community including sporting groups and business people.
