When is the best time to start swimming lessons? As soon as possible! Learning to Swim can start from day 1 in the bath or the shower and can begin at home. Our beautiful babies have been wriggling around in a watery environment for months before they are born. Play time in water allows for freedom of movement that cannot be achieved on land as well as the opportunity to build on the early reflexes that infants have when they are born.
Swim 1 provides a Learn to Swim program focusing on Safety Skills and Fun. Swim 1 provides lessons for all levels from 4 months of age through to adults. The program progresses from Water Familiarisation to Water Confidence, Big Swims and then Stroke Development. The Swim 1 program has been developed based on several important key factors. These include small class sizes, heated pool, qualified experienced mature teachers, current industry practice and children?s development. The Swim 1 program for all ages incorporates Swim Safer components which also relate to our beach lifestyle as well as being able to adapt to individual needs.
We aim to provide a relaxed and enjoyable environment for our families. Children and families learn about having respect for water environments and teaching the ?rules of pools?. Parent education is an essential part of the program at Swim 1. Parents are actively involved during event weeks such as Swim Safer and Rescue Weeks and are able to learn about swimming safer with their child.
Water is a big part of our life on the Sunshine Coast and Learn to Swim lessons should be a priority for every family. Swim Schools provide more than lessons on learning to swim. They provide education to children and their families about water safety including Pool Safety, Supervision, and Preparation.
Swimming Lessons can help to build a strong foundation for future experiences and some of these may include Waterpolo, triathalons, club swimming, surfing and kayaking.
