The Australian Winery of Moet & Chandon, Domaine Chandon, is located in the spectacular Yarra Valley and is well worth a visit. Guided tours through the winery and fantastic riddling hall where the traditional 'methode champenoise' is explained, are available daily. The highly acclaimed wines are available for tasting by the glass in the impressive Green Point Room overlooking the vineyards and out to the Great Dividing Range.
Sparkling at the centre of the Yarra is the shiny winery set up by Moët & Chandon to produce premium sparkling wines by methode traditionelle. There are numerous varieties of Chandon, the Aussie little sister to the French giant. The free guided tour starts at the cork in the entrance and takes you through the making of the bubbles including a peek in the riddling room. There?s a small charge on a range tasting at the cellar door and the flight of lovely champagnes comes with a cheese plate as a pre-lunch snack. Lunch is served in the glass-fronted Green Point Room that has wonderful views across the sweeping chardonnay vineyards. Try their delish duck with bok choy or handmade pumpkin ravioli.
