The Great Ocean Walk is one of the highlights of Australia. For many years, the Great Ocean Road has been Victoria's number one destination but the walk takes you to secluded beaches, tranquil rain forests, cliff tops overlooking the Shipwreck Coast and close to the Otways wildlife.
Dinner in the evening includes fresh produce where our vegetables and herbs are still growing while you walk, and salad lunches are picked fresh each morning before you set off for your walk.
Highlights:
See and hear the amazing surf coast.
Koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas.
Eagles, kookaburras, king parrots.
Cape Otway Lightstation.
The Twelve Apostles.
Secluded beaches and rainforests.
Organically grown food each day.
Carefully selected wines and beers.
Beautiful homestead accommodation.
Organically Grown Food:
Great Ocean Walk Holidays has their own Restaurant Garden where vegetables, herbs and fruits are growing and aren't picked for dinner until late in the afternoon ensuring complete freshness from the garden to the plate.
Our fish and meat is carefully selected from our suppliers ensuring the best cuts are selected for our diners.
Guests can freely wander around our orchards and vegetables gardens at the end of the day, perhaps with a glass of wine in hand.
All our fruit, vegetables and herbs are organically grown and chemical free and travel just a few metres when picked!
Accommodation:
High on a hill overlooking the Aire River Wildlife Reserve, enjoy a glass of wine on the verandah and a candlelit dinner by the log fire.
Great Ocean Walk Holidays are based at Aire Valley Restaurant and Guest House on the Great Ocean Road. The Aire Valley Restaurant and Guest House was the original farm house for the east side of the Aire River just outside Hordern Vale. It was extended and renovated in keeping with the original style of the house in 1999.
The restaurant has its own orchards, vegetable gardens and green house.
