AS a FULLY QUALIFIED, REGISTERED and EXPERIENCED TEACHER, I provide private one-on-one tutoring of Maths and English for primary and secondary students in my comfortable, air-conditioned home in Calamvale, Brisbane. This is centrally located to also service the areas of Stretton, Drewvale, Browns Plains, Algester, Parkinson, Runcorn Heights, Sunnybank Hills, Kuraby and Eight Mile Plains.
After an initial assessment, I develop an individualised program to help your child to build their skill level and increase their depth of understanding of concepts so that they have a strong foundation on which to build future learning. At the same time, I give encouragement and positive feedback which develops their confidence and a more positive attitude to the subject. Lessons are carefully graded to move from easier to more challenging tasks so that success is achievable. During each lesson, your child will participate in discussion, written tasks, computer activities and have access to a large variety of hands-on teaching materials and games which will make learning fun!
With many years of classroom teaching experience, I have tutored students for the Qld Studies Authority Even Start Program as well as privately at my home. For the past few years, I have also been employed as a marker for the Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 NAPLAN writing task and the Year 12 Core Skills Test so have a comprehensive knowledge of what is involved to prepare students for these tests.
I do hold a current government blue card for working with children and am keen to support your child's educational needs so that they can reach their full potential.
