Programs include English, Maths, science, reading, comprehension, writing, handwriting, spelling, phonics, grammar, punctuation, study skills, self esteem building, gifted programs and preparation for NAPLAN, GATE and scholarship tests.
Some students need extension and are bored in the classroom, while others are highly intelligent but struggle at school. She has helped countless students who have learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Central Auditory (CAPD) and Visual processing disorders, fine motor and language difficulties.
Services also include full assessments with reports and action plans, on-going support, January School Holiday Booster Programs, term programs and lots of rewards and encouragement. She loves to create happy, keen learners.
Parents are welcome to ring Julia for a chat about their child's needs and sometimes, a sympathetic shoulder and a bit of sound advice from a very experienced teacher is all that is needed.
When a child is struggling, whether they are in Year 1 or Year 12, parents often feel helpless. Schools can only do so much, but outside, professional help can make a huge difference. At A1 Learning Academy, immediate improvements happen and we love it when our kids come in proudly waving the their A's about when the test scores come back from school.
Julia has helped many students to win scholarships to state and private schools and to enter and win writing and maths competitions. Advice on handling parent/teacher interviews and placement of students into appropriate schools and grades is available.
Assessments are not compulsory but highly recommended as they provide a baseline for understanding the child's learning style and levels and, from this, an action plan is created for home or centre use.
