At Lissome Yoga we apply Hatha postures and principles to safely guide and inspire you to move with intelligence, ease and strength. You will learn to extend your breath and still your mind. You will build stamina, flexibility and lightness.
Why Lissome?
Look up lissome in the dictionary (pronounced /lis-som/) and you will see words like lithe, light, limber and agile. When you come to our classes we want you to feel those words, and eventually know what it is to be lissome; in body, mind and spirit.
Who is Lissome for?
Everyone. The best yoga practitioners don't come in small packages nor do they wrap their ankles around their heads (though that makes a great party trick!). Yoga requires awareness; awareness of your breath, of your body, of your internal limitations and your aspirations. And if you aren't quite sure what those things are for you we will help you get there. Yoga without awareness of these important elements is simply calisthenics (and party tricks).
So come along! Our style is especially suitable for beginners, but intermediates will always be challenged. It is best if you are injury or ailment free, but if you do have an ache or pain please let us know before class.
