Classical yoga classes include deep relaxation, warming up and limbering, classic yoga postures, mindful breathing practices and stillness meditation. You work at your own level and nothing is forced. We talk a little about yoga philosophy too.
This combination of physical work (hatha yoga) and some work for the mind can bring many benefits to the body and a better understanding and peacefulness to our lives.Yoga postures build strength and flexibility, massage internal organs and glands encouraging optimal function, stimulate the circulation, encourage full deep respiration, help to optimise the nervous system, and energise the body, no matter what shape it may be in.
Relaxation and meditation help you to calm the mind and experience inner peace, which is very helpful for managing the stresses we have in our life. Increased awareness of body and mind, combined with some of the other yogic practices such as meditation, help us to see that we can experience union or oneness with the universe - a state of pure conscious aware being.
Classes are held at various times including daytime, evening and weekend, with private or workplace classes also available. Those new to yoga feel nurtured on their journey and those wanting more of a physical challenge can certainly get that too.
As well as our many ongoing general classes, there are various specialised classes. These include:
*Renew and Restore Yoga - for people recovering from illness or injury or wanting to go gently
*Beginners Yoga
*Rise & Shine Yoga - for those wanting a more dynamic, strong practice
*Meditation
*Learn Meditation & Mindfulness
*Yin Yoga
