YogaJoy classes are perfect for beginners with little or no experience, or anybody looking for a gentle yoga practice in Melbourne's suburbs of Caulfield, Glen Huntly, Carnegie and Chelsea.
YogaJoy blends elements of Hatha Yoga postures (asanas), Vinyasa (flow) and Pranayama (breathing) with relaxation and meditation. It aims to improve flexibility and strength, to ease stress, to regain inner balance and to enhance your general well-being.
Posture and alignment is developed, freeing the body from unnecessary strain, leaving one feeling centred and grounded. Breathing techniques (pranayama) are used to help deeply calm the mind and assist in letting go of any tensions.
Classes begin with gentle warm ups and breathing to focus attention on the yoga practice. This is followed by some stronger poses, but as always, people are encouraged to do this so that it is comfortable, safe and enjoyable.
At all times, the aim is for you to respectfully nurture your body and mind. The following deep relaxation provides you with time to feel and incorporate the effects of your yoga practice, leaving you refreshed, calm and with a satisfying feeling of being deliciously stretched.
Joy has been practising yoga since 1994 and is passionate about the way it simply improves oneâ??s life on every level. Her style of teaching is very supportive and motivational. She makes classes fun and easy to participate while offering you individual assistance to enhance your personal yoga experience.
No booking is required. Please arrive 10 minutes before class starts, (20 minutes to register if it is your first time) and avoid a full belly. We advise not to eat 2 to 3 hours before your practice.
