Located in Fig Tree Pocket the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary houses over 130 koalas, making it the largest koala sanctuary on the planet.
It's not just koalas though the zoo is home to wombats, dingos, native birds, kangaroos, echidnas, Tasmania devils, lizards, platypus and more.

Dedicated to the conservation of Australian Wildlife, this place has been a popular setting for family snapshots since it opened in 1927. Even celebrities such as Cher and Mariah Carey have been photographed cuddling koalas here. As the name implies, there are plenty of koalas to visit – more than 130, in fact – and you are welcome to get up close. Kids love feeding the kangaroos and wallabies scattered across the reserve. You can see native birds, snakes, lizards and even a duck-billed platypus. Sheep-dog displays are always popular.
