Do I really need a licenced plumber to do the work?
If you want peace of mind and your insurance to provide the maximum coverage it can, then yes. How do you price your plumbing work?
We don't want you to pay extra if the job takes a little longer than we expected, and we're very transparent with our pricing. Plumbing work can often get a little more complex once you start work, as little issues you could not access or see before they became apparent. I was overcharged by5 times. It took just 1hr to find and repair a water leak hidden in brick wall. I payed over $1200.

If I had to sum up Plumber To The Rescue in two words they would be: EXORBITANT PRICING.
I needed to get a new gas oven and cooktop installed recently and called up these guys as they were local and had a high rank in Google with good reviews. They wouldnt quote over the phone or give a ballpark price for the work but insisted on coming out to quote at a call-out cost of $77. That was the first red flag but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed that they would provide a reasonable quote since I wouldnt be wasting their time.
I work in the building industry and am pretty handy. I reckon installing the cooktop and oven myself would take about three hours tops.
Once on site and prior to giving me his price the plumber who came out to quote told me that the work would take one guy about 4 hours. He advised however that the work wouldnt be charged at an hourly rate but would be based on the standard item rates in their pricing book that he had in his van. (If they have standard item rates for routine jobs why cant they just quote them over the phone? because they know that once youre up for the $77 callout fee youll be reluctant to go to someone else whos also likely to charge a callout fee).
Anyways I had already been quoted $395 including GST for the cooktop and oven install by another company Id satisfactorily used before so I was expecting something similar from these guys. When the plumber got back from his van with the price however it was all I could do not to throw him out on the spot.
He wanted $1650 including GST for a four hour job. To put that in perspective the average weekly wage according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics was $1484.50 (before tax) as of May 2015. Were talking $412.50 per hour for a plumber! Ive paid less for a senior partner in a law firm recently. No disrespect to plumbers but thats just ridiculous.

I think the plumbers name was Jason, but just wanted to leave this review here commending him for the work he did at my home. The plumber arrived within the agreed time, and stuck to his quote, even though there were some additional issues found as he was working. Our pipes are working great now, weve not had any blockages since. Service met my expectations, will call him up again for future work!

This plumber was recommended to me by my strata, so I called them for my leak problem in the bathroom. The man who came out was friendly and got the job done with no mess.

Plumber came on time to fix my blocked pipes. He did a good job, very efficient and made sure no mess was made before he packed up to leave. Ill be calling him again if any plumbing issues come up again.
