First contact admin staff quoted me $50 for a copy of my record, misheard me, hung up on me then falsely quoted me. Second contact admin staff asked me if I had refused to pay $50 for my record. When I said no she said 'I didnt think so. She asked whether I wanted the complete record or the summary and I replied I just needed information for my records to remind me when things had happened. Several calls and some time later a nurse rang me and said the cost was $127.50 (she had decided on the cost) for the doctor to spend 15minutes printing 50 pages, plus 50c a page (much more than the usual cost) plus $11 registered mail. I said I was quoted $50 by two admin staff and she replied $127.50 was the cost. I said I only needed the summary and she replied the work was done and I would be charged $127.50. She said I had been offered a summary and refused. When I said that was not true she said she had to go. This business has always had a reputation for being uncaring and rude. Now I have experienced it myself.
