Future Auto Service Centre Northgate - Virginia - GPD Automotive

I booked for my car to have the back tyres changed. I made the mistake to advise the staff member/owner that I wanted to check that they were opened on Saturdays as I was planning to purchase through a third party website and have them delivered and fitted at Tyreplus Northgate. After speaking to them, I decided to book the service directly with them. The appointment was for 2 weeks time. The following Monday (2 days later), I called in to cancel the appointment, when the guy told me arrogantly that there was going to be a restocking fee. I always endeavour to try to help independent small businesses but when they lie to your face like this, I have absolutely neither respect or support. He has told basically the tyres have already arrived when the suppliers don't work on the weekends and we all know that the delivery network with transport is extremely slow at the moment!! DO NOT TRUST THIS TYRE SHOP, they will try to rip you off.

I've been using Dudley and his guys for over 10 years. I believe my wife has been using him for about 7. He is a genuine, honest and friendly guy. I should perhaps mention as well that he is a fantastic mechanic. He is always upfront about costs and explains everything clearly. The guys are always accomodating as there have been times when I've given them little notice and they've always helped. His knowledge extends to new cars like my wife's Subaru to classic cars like my 69 Ford Galaxie. Oh and if anyone out there has a classic car- Dudley, Mark and the guys are the ones to come to. They work on everything from Minis to old Holdens, Fords and classic american- they know exactly what they're doing. If you want a real trustworthy and highly competent mechanic you can't go past GPD Automotive.

Whilst we were in Queensland for the Christmas season my vehicle began to have problems. I called into Future Auto Northgate and Dudley informed me that they were closing for the Christmas break but that he would see what he could do and thankfully he managed to fix my car by late afternoon.
He also called me after New Year when they had re-opened to make sure that I had arrived home safely .
He was very professional and went out of his way to help me.
I cannot recommend him enough - its just unfortunate for me that his business isn't in South Australia .

Truly bad service and overpriced!!! Took my car in to have a problem looked at and for a major service, they did not flush my radiator, even though I was still charged for this service. As for the problem with the car, when I did pick my car up Dudley said it was fine and that he checked it. Four days later, problem still occurring, took my car back and they tried to charge me $105 for diagnosing even though that's why my car was taken to them!!!! Save yourself time, money and disappointment and go anywhere else but there!!!
