Called in advance to have ABLE tow my car from a mechanic workshop to my house. Quoted $88 over the phone. After the driver unloaded my car I asked how much I owed, only to be told in a barely audible voice "$100, wasn't it?". Decided just to pay regardless of the extra $12. Since I didn't have the correct change I asked if they have change for a $20 (sadly, I only had notes to pay either $90 or $110). Apparently they don't have a change and said I would need to go get change if I wanted change. Ended up paying $110 cause running around to find chance was an inconvenience and would have delayed them from other jobs. Was not impressed with service.
It may go with the territory, but I called my roadside assistance provider (with whom I have free towing) and they advised a tow truck would arrive in 5 minutes. When an ABAL truck turned up in five minutes. I explained what happened to the car, and how I had called my roadside assistance provider to send a tow truck. They nodded and said "where do you want it towed to?"... I was not told that I was to be charged until I arrived at their depot where they insisted we needed to go first.. They then charged me $100 to have the car towed 3k. Being my first experience with roadside assistance, I didn't know how the process worked. My ignorance cost me $100. Don't give them your business.
