I live locally and used to go there a lot but now I avoid shopping at this butcher even if this means I have to drive elsewhere to buy a piece of meat. Why? Their service is terrible and I can get better meat for the same price elsewhere. Store keepers have no knowledge of cuts and the rest are rude. Whenever I request them to do a tiny bit of work on meat or bring something out of fridge than picking up what's already on the shelf, they show obvious lack of enthusiasm. Even with simple purchases, I have been made to feel like I am bothering them. This time I, however, ordered Turkey for Christmas in July to save some time for shopping. Big mistake. A turkey I ordered a week prior was sold to someone else (who insisted that the person ordered in but no order was found) and only turkey available for me now was frozen. They did not even check which order belongs to whom. Where was the other person's order anyway? I am not going back there at any cost.
Awesome local community provider, but our family's experience after several visits very dissappointing. Last visit involved a request for "the best steak in the house" and after purchasing a kilo of Sirloin/ Porterhouse Steak at approx $39 per kilo, the meat was atrocious; grissly, fatty etc. Very happy to give it a go again but to be honest Woolies more reliable at this point.
