Located at the edge of the Bronte Road cafe crowd, A Man & His Monkey gives its customers a nice eating experience with a residential feel. The house turned cafe ambiance, old-style decor of wooden school desks and rugged furniture, together with little touches of animated artworks makes this small yet intimate place an exciting place to be. It probably only sits around 15 people, plus a few outdoor seats in front of the shop.
The bulk of their food offerings are gourmet sandwiches and hot beverages. I tried out their haloumi & egg sandwich. Served in a transparent glass plate, it is a simple dish but had great taste. Rocket, sundried tomato, and the poached egg made in the sandwich created a perfect combination towards a clean and beautiful dish.
The staffs were very friendly and courteous from start to finish. At one time when I accidentally spilled water on the desk, the staffs came right away and cleaned it up pronto.
