A Place To Eat At Apte

Just moved into the area and read great reviews of our now local coffee shop.
Friday afternoon coffee and snack proved to be very disappointing.
Coffee was cold and bitter (we asked for extra hot), soup was lovely tasting but served very cool (almost cold) and fruit bread was lovely tasting but served with 2 hard pieces of butter which would not spread!
Service was abrupt and not very friendly - very disappointed as this is so close to us and we love a local cafe to meet and socialise. Will walk a little further and go to one further up the road - shame!

This cafe is one of my favourites. The food, coffee and cakes are always good. It can be a bit of a wait, but the popularity is a good indicator of the quality. Staff generally good, although have come across some that are not child-friendly.

The 'Indie kids' would say, I heart Apte. The posh mothers would say, 'Apte is devine Dahling!' and the average local person, such as myself, would say after taking that first sip or bite, mmm thats why I love this place.
I live only a street up from Apte, and granted, there isnt much competition for my patronage, but a better local caf I couldnt hope for. The staff is delightful, I can rock up in my casual trackies yet still feel at ease amongst the indie kids and the posh mums, and I always enjoy the food and coffee.
The only drawback is that it so busy. But dont we want great work to be rewarded? I am happy that the owners are receiving the popularity and success they deserve. Plus, any caf and brunch connoisseur knows that all good things come to those who wait. They will be appreciating the staff not rushing them on as theyre enjoying their delightful meals.

Very busy, long wait for coffee but it's worth it!
