I sent my partner here to buy flowers for a colleague tonight as I would not get to the shop in time. I have to give the flowers to the colleague tomorrow so I asked my partner to explain this to the florist. The florist, instead of wrapping the flowers up in gel to keep them fresh, left the ends unwrapped and told my partner to "stick them in some water" until tomorrow. The wrapping paper had ragged edges, the sticker was misplaced so that the paper was bunched up in the wrong places, and the wrapping paper was consisted of green, pink and black, all clashing discordantly. I will not be coming back to this florist.
We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us. However, wrapping flowers in gel will only keep flowers fresh for a few hours. We always suggest to customers to put flowers in water if they are not giving them until the following day, or to purchase an arrangement in a container. We also apologise that you did not like the wrapping that was used. We would like to further investigate this situation if you could kindly provide us with a little more information. Which location were these bought from...Pratt St or there is another Secret Garden at the Showgrounds in Ascot Vale. Could you describe what was in the bouquet, on what day and approx what time these were purchased. If you did happen to take a photo of the bouquet, could you please forward this to us at [email protected] and we will happily replace this for you.

My partner bought 2 bouquets of what looked like native flowers. One for $18 and the other for a bit more. He bought them at the Pratt Street shop on Tuesday between 4 and 5 pm.
Your first response assumed that these were pre wrapped. They were not. The sales assistant wrapped them up in front of my partner. I rewrapped the bouquet for the colleague myself with our own paper. I trimmed the ends of the cellophane so that the edges were not ragged. I stopped the dripping stems by putting a plastic bag at the bottom and then covering that with more wrapping. We do not want replacements. Flowers are not a big ticket item, but they should be done the right way the first time.
