A Touch of India Indian Restaurant
The Ethnic Indian RestaurantIndia has been rightly judged as the "Home of Spices." Spices may be the "heart" of a dish but blending the correctly with the appropriate style of cooking is what may be termed as the "soul" and this is what makes a dish complete.

Very nice, very tasty, although me being me I did upset them a little when I asked for their hottest meal, and then for chilli to add to it. Indians tend to think of us non Indians as soft - no disrespect at all - when it comes to hot foods as do many others. I love my food volcanic. That aside, very friendly folk, solid service and one of the better Indian restaurants around. But if you are boring, you can eat "normal" foods as well.
I was so full you had to carry me out the door! We ordered what we thought was a normal meal however the servings were huge however I must admit the waiter told me we had ordered a lot but I ignored him (stupid me!). These guys use the traditional tandor in their cooking so the flavours and smells coming from the kitchen get your senses going. The samosoas were entry size served with a delicious mint sauce. We ordered the north Indian chicken and beef vindaloo along with some roti/naan bread. 2 glasses of wine with some water came to under $50!! Can't wait to go back
Another great restaurant on Mt Alexander Rd. I often venture there when I feel the urge for a good curry! Good prices, and the owner seems a really nice guy. He is always keen for a chat when you pick up take away. Dining in is good too. Though doesn't feel as authentic as the food tastes. Still a great cheap place to eat.
