A1 Asbestos Removals

Avoid wasting your time and don't even bother to get these guys to quote.
After obtaining a quote in person and scheduling a date for our 150m2 of asbestos walls & ceilings to be removed we were advised when the workers commenced on site that our ceiling required a higher level of safety for removal and it would be another $1,500 on top of the original quote. When queried to the original contact, no only would he not answers our calls or return texts,he advised (through his workers) that he quoted via the phone so wasn't aware of the different asbestos rating - he had actually quoted in person with my husband standing beside him.

A1 Asbestos Removals = 1. Show up at random (on specified day at least) and trudge on inside your property, meanwhile you're unprepared to leave the premises as they start the Asbestos removal process. (how hard is it to make a call to give a possible time?)

2. Do not follow all safety precautions in household asbestos removal; such as blocking air pathways to other areas of a home with sheet plastic over hallways etc...

3. Show little evidence of a HEPA (High-efficiency particulate absorption) vacuum clean-up afterwards, nor evidence of PVC spray seal (used to encapsulate lingering Asbestos fibres) on relevant surfaces where asbestos was removed.

4. Expect to be paid cash, in full, on job completion. (Are you kidding me? No other Tradespeople I've come across expect this.)


A final caveat: Purchase their services at your own risk.

A1 Asbestos Removals provided such a bad service that we had to pay another company to fix up their mess. I wouldn't recommend them. After dealing with them, I was not surprised.
