Located on the strips of Barkley street, there is definitely no shortage of Indian restaurants to choose from. But Aangan is the most popular one. They have tables at the front and backyard. Good place to bring the kids and they also had face painting on the night. Food is authentic and tasty. Although on a more pricey side, it's worth visiting!

The lady who works here in front is so rude and one side...Authentic Indian food North, East ,West ,South Indian food are there but not like this place...
Got Biryani and basic raitha-- HALF cooked rice loads of oil and Cannot ask anything. Horrible flavors blended...Well after tasting couple of spoons
We got butter chicken which my friend insisted.. Full of colored sweet and spice synthetic flavors.

Melbourne has horrible diners related to Indian cuisine in the name of Dominating North Indian stereotype known food without life & authenticity blended with a vague inhuman hospitality in the food industry..

This is the star of Indian dining in the west, potentially in Melbourne! Located on the Indian strip of Barkley Street, any dish you order will not disappoint. Their beers are also decently priced, and mango lassi is superb.
My Indian colleagues who live on the east travel all the way here because they know the quality of Aangan, telling me that the high standard of the food comes from being able to cook from a traditional clay tandoori oven, which can be hard to get a permit to build inside a premises with certain councils.
I recommend anything and everything!
Local favorite for great Indian food and you can even book via Dimmis to earn reward points. Really authentic Indian and I especially love the vindaloo here. The prawn madras here are also very tasty. Its set on the very hustling and bustling Barkly Street in the up and coming West Footscray.
