I hired a Moving Truck from ABEL Northgate, I had just moved to Brisbane and found some furniture on Gumtree that I wanted to go and get.
The deal was a Moving Truck for $85 Online Booking for 24hrs.
I arrived at 2:30Pm to Pick up the Truck as I was working that day.
While filling out paperwork the Receptionist informed me that since I was hiring a Truck, I need to pay a $49.95 excess reduction fee of some ...read more
I am not going to tell about the difference between the actual cost and the cost they represent in their advertisement since it is clear in other comments and I had this ugly experience with them a few weeks ago.
We rented a UTE and after a while, we noticed our GPS is going out of charge because the cars plug in didn't work. We get lost and spent extra time to find our way without GPS. I was worried about the next customer and when I notified them about this issue, instead of any responsive reply or even checking the plug in, I was told that maybe my GPS works with a different voltage. I am not going to judge how ridiculous is this response, but other people can judge about their responsibility and behavior.
Hi A.Sh
Thank you for your feedback. I do sincerely apologize that the power socket in the vehicle you hired did not operate. Please, if you can email me directly your name and/or a possible registration number so I can have that investigated further. ([email protected])
Without our clients advising us of such issues we cannot continue to improve our service, your comments prompt me to revisit training some our employees with the difference between utes and trucks (GPS may not work in trucks as they are a different voltage)
Again, I think you and please feel free to email me directly with that information so this will not happen again.
Regards,
The Abel Team
Few weeks ago I rented a ute for 4 hours; it says all over it " rent cheap cars from $26 a day".
now look at my bill; 1 day @ 53.64 (I had booked for 4 hours)
LDW MVA @ 26.82 ( I don't know what is this abbreviation but the staff explained as you don't have credit car, you have to pay extra. we had debit car)
GST @ 8.2
Admin fee @ 2
TOTAL = $ 90.71
Also they hold $550 as damage liability for 5 to 10 business day.
I had rented car before from other companies here in Brisbane and they all were better and this experience was very bad.
About the staff; I was unhappy when first they told me that I should pay $90.71 for 4 hours and when I asked if I can cancel it they asked for $ 50 for cancellation fee and their behaviour wasn't friendly at all.
Hope this helps you out there.
Hi Scanner. Thank you for the feedback. Im unsure where you believe we advertise new cars from $26 a day as we simply do not. We pride ourselves on the fact that you can rent a brand new Nissan Micra for only $29 a day. The Ute however is not that vehicle and is priced differently.
You will also notice as per our terms and conditions we state quite clearly that if you use a debit card there are different conditions, such as a deposit of ...read more
DO NOT USE. Cheap and nasty. Hire a filthy, unkempt car and they tell you "what do you expect for the money" when you pick it up, without prompting. Pay a little more and save yourself the hassle. Do not deal with them. And yes, forget about a refund and hope they don't make damage claims against you.
