I recently had the displeasure of hiring a moving truck through these guys. I used the mid week deal as it\'s cheaper to hire than the weekend but had some pretty shoddy service.
First of all when inspecting the truck one of the passenger side mirrors were smashed and the rear door was obviously badly damaged and bent as if someone had backed into something large. I made sure these were noted on the inspection sheet. Upon jumping in the vehicle I was told the truck had less than 1\/4 tank of fuel left. The worst service ever! They have just cancelled my reservation the day before Christmas and I was due to pick up my car on Christmas Day! The staff who called said that there is nothing they could do and when I asked to speak to the management, the managent just hid behind the call centre person and didnt want to speak to me. Bad service. Dont ever use them!

Well in fact there were no other rental cars and no, you did not provide enough notice. Cancelling the day before christmas, the day before my booking is not acceptable. I will be telling everyone I know not to use your company. I am so disappointed with your company.
Overall: 1. Beware -what they quote on the phone and what they charge are not the same thing. Lots of hidden charges that if you interrogate simply make no sense. Like location surcharge...Yes folks they charge a surcharge simply because of the location of the depot. Or prices that don't include gst; or codes on the invoice for things that when you ask what they're for they simply can't justify or answer.
2. When you return the vehicle they'll conveniently find some damage that they will try and pin on you. And when you try in vain to explain you didn't do it, that it was already there, they all but call you a liar, and threaten court action.
3. One attendant, when challenged about point 1 above simply grabbed his bag said "I've had a gutful'" and walked out.
I would honestly rate these guys as the worst service I have ever, ever received. Forget about half a star they don't deserve any stars.
I have done business with Abel Rentacar several times over several years but have found the current staff and management hopeless, very rude, unable to keep their word, and with no integrity or skills when it comes to customer relations. I booked a car over the phone and trusted them as I was a repeat customer, however when I got there it was more expensive than quoted . The defense given was they were new and had made mistakes. No one in reception including the office management was willing to make any decisions to help and a half hour of my time was wasted which made me late for a business meeting I had just flown in for. To get going I just had to accept their higher charges, but documented on their forms that I did not agree with the charges as they were not what was quoted.
