I rang adt after my alarm system kept going off even though I had not set the alarm. There was a fault in one of the points which caused the alarm to go off. They told me to get up into the ceiling to turn the switch off and then disconect the battery. My husband and I are getting on in age and it would not be a good idea to be climbing in the ceiling. I asked if they can send some one arround to help us which they did 4 days later. In the meantime the alarm keep going off when it wasn't set and my neigbours were all complaining. Adt said they will send someone to fix it free of charge only if We agree to sign up another 3 year contract. I ended up agreeing to the 3 year contract as I just didn't know which way to turn. I have since been told that afew alarm systems had a fault. So I was so upset the way I was treated that I have cancelled the monitoring by ADT.
