Afghan Gallery Restaurant

Always a joy to visit and the dahl is to die for. Friendly service and the tent rooms are comfy. Waiter is good but recently visited after many years of not going and was surprised it had not had a refurbish yet and had less wait staff. I think a reno , new decor and cushions are needed.

Enter the Afghan Gallery, and you are automatically transferred into the world of Persian rugs, Afghan artefacts and the rugged mountains of Kandahar (judging by the pictures on the walls). The waiter looked after the entire restaurant (upstairs and downstairs) on his own, and did very well considering. For the main dishes, my fianc and I had the beef curry (very spicy!) and the traditional Afghan rice dish consisting of brown basmati rice, sultanas, chicken and carrot yum! Whilst the service may have been slow at times, the experience nonetheless is definitely worth pursuing.

If you enjoy Middle Eastern food, then make sure you dine at the Afghan Gallery Restaurant. The food is excellent, and while it may seem a little expensive the quality of the food and the size of the dishes more than make up for the cost.

Worth visiting for something different. Groups can book the upstairs tent area. Servings aren't huge but tasty.
