Left our dog here 2019 when we got there the staff seemed so dull when talking to us & made me feel very nervous about leaving our dog there within 30 seconds of waking into the place... didn’t get shown around to where he would be staying they basically said pay the fee seeya later! when we picked him up he was being extremely naughty and not following orders. the place is nice (only saw the office) but staff lack service.
We left our two year old spoodle at Akuna Care in Sawyers Gully in May 2016. We paid for extra play time and were told we would automatically receive pictures of our dog while we were away. Also Darcy (our dog) was itching to leave the second he saw us. We could tell he didn't have much fun.
The cost was expensive for two days (about $175) and we never received any videos or photos. When we picked up our Darcy, we told them we hadn't received any videos and the young person behind the counter didn't seem bothered but because I pushed, she said she would look into it. It is now August and we have heard nothing about the videos...
Since we have found several dog sitters who take care of dogs in their home and limit the amount of dogs they take. Darcy loves his stay with them. This is far better than this kennel. It was a waste of money and upsetting for our dog. Save yourself the grief.
I've used many people to board my dogs when we go overseas. So many pet boarders are poorly organised or just don't look after my dogs properly. Akuna Care got to know my dogs from the start- amazing as to date no other has been able to tell me anything about my dogs that I didn't already know. I know my dogs are in better hands than mine when an Akuna Care van picks them up- that stops us worrying when on holiday. Our dogs love it when they go, and are happy and healthy when we they come back. Simply cannot ask for more, and neither do my dogs!
