I remain Adelaide proud- even after an 8 year stint in Melbourne I was still entertaining the idea of an Adelaide cafe/bar where you could sit down for a coffee & a frog cake, tuck into any of the Vili's range of pastries/ cakes (anything, really- sorry Balfours!), pick up a crusty double-cut roll (with 2 x fillings), Farmers Union Iced Coffee, Mountain Fresh Juices, then there's the iconic wines, amazing dairy & smallgoods, the fruchocs, Coopers, Haighs.....and (in an ideal world) a gorgeous, tangy, moist, melt-in-your-mouth Alaska Spiced Apple with Yoghurt Bar.... well, that would be the Spiced Apple/Yoghurt Bar that I remember as a teenager in the days when the shelf life was only a few days (and lack of preservatives led to lawsuits), and the soft, wet, fruity cheesecakey flagship of Alaskas fledgeling fleet would have been my #1 choice as a last meal on death row....Take THAT Maccas!
