The thing that surprised me initially was the food. I didn't have the highest expectations, but the steak was awesome. It's def. better than pub grub. I haven't been out to that many night clubs recently, but I thought $7 for a Corona wasn't that extravagant! I did see a comedian do some of the same material I'd see him do on TV.
Last Friday I had the unfortunate experience of going to this club for the 2nd time...only to be disappointed a second time. The line-up was exactly the same as the previous visit, and they told the same tired, unfunny jokes. Their website boasts about the different line-up each week, however when i checked who's on in March, it's the same line-up for the first 2 weeks, then a different line-up repeated for the next 2 weeks. Then have a quick glance at the comics in April...same line-up 3 weeks in a row...and the week after...some dude who was in THE worst movies EVER. Don't go to this club. I've seen better acts at open-mic nights where people are trying out new material.
I have to agree with this review. The comics are funny first time around, but to have to see then again a week or so later is just insulting to the paying public. this is why they give out so many free tickets they just want you to order food and drink. They are a disgrace to entertainment in Brisbane. The Sit Down Comedy Club in Paddington has an excellent reputation for a continuos varied line up of different comediens from in and around Brisbane. The food is of a better standard than other clubs and drinks reasonbly priced.
i have to dissagree ive been 3 times all new material every time resonable priced food and drink quite nice pasta and steak i have loved it every time
