Aldi

The Aldi supermarkets are all basically *the same* and are set out in much the same way, which is great because if you are familiar with one you can find your way around any of the stores. The one at Bateau Bay is quite a good size store, situated at the opposite end of the shopping center, the staff here are friendly and the store itself is neat and tidy. Like most Aldi stores a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy, meat etc. Of course, you don't get a lot of choice or variety, but the store makes up for it with low prices. Every Wednesday and Saturday they have *Aldi Special Buys* which are different products and lines in store in limited quantity - once they are gone, they are gone. Look out for these specials as you can pick up good quality low priced items like tools, garden care, dishwashers, dryers and washing machines.

Over-all I just love the Aldi chain of stores, they get in some great - one-off special buys, and everyday have low prices, especially on fruits and vegetables. We love the low fat cheese slices, roma tomatoes and the tuna slices which are great for snacks and sandwiches. It's pretty easy to find what you're looking for, I just wish they would offer hand baskets for when you just want a few items and don't need a trolley, but would like to carry things more comfortably.
